I liked this well enough Couldn't stand Suzanne but I know people like her therefore she was believable The reason's why this book didn't get more then 2 stars is because to me the end was rushed I am currently married to a man who loves another woman more then he loves me.

Believe me it takes more then a night out in town to make up for the negligence that can sometime occur in such situation. As for Mary, sh I liked this well enough As for Mary, she made her choices and I understand that but it almost seemed like she was made to forget her dreams in favor of Philip but he got all he wanted in the end in some way or another View 1 comment. He was dreaming of an ideal love The girl just loved him Amazing book for love story lovers Marc Levy doesn't fail to keep the reader glued to the pages right until the end.

I dont know what I expected from this book. It was lying around in a friends shelve and I had nothing really to do. Knowing Marc Levy I thought it would bother me after a while.

But lets say I finished it, and it wasnt because of its charming characters. Susan was way to egoistic and at the same time needy for my taste. Peter was too dependend on her. I felt a kind of hate that I always get when people are just whiny and dont start doing something with their stuff.

What kept me reading were Susan I dont know what I expected from this book. What kept me reading were Susans experiences abroad and the challenges of family life in the last part of the book.

Even though nothing new and original. The big spoiler end was very unsatisfieing. You dont solve a 10 year conflict in 5 minutes. Another great book only available in French Wo bist du? If you start reading the first two pages and get to the end of the introduction, you'll understand why I love this book. It's totally bluffing, the writing is easy reading. Two friends who spend their lives trying to figure out if they love each other, or rather how they love each other, as friends, as lovers Generally not a big fan of love stories, but I can really recommend that one, it wil Another great book only available in French Generally not a big fan of love stories, but I can really recommend that one, it will really make you think about life, I swear Warning: if you start reading it, you won't stop before the end so start reading early in your day!

One of my favorites books. I love this author. Mar 21, Rosy Ngo rated it it was ok. I did not enjoy this much. I even could not understand the idea which Levy is trying to pyt into this book.

Thomas is probably the cutest thing in the book, I love how he defends his adoptive sister when she first arrives and people make fun of her at school, ans I love the fraternal relationship between the Wonderful!

Thomas is probably the cutest thing in the book, I love how he defends his adoptive sister when she first arrives and people make fun of her at school, ans I love the fraternal relationship between the two of us, he's the first one to have gotten through to Lisa and I find this idea of the little brother so touching.

Although I found the beginning of the story pretty boring with the correspondence between Susan and Philip, as soon as Lisa makes her appearance and reveals her mother's death, it becomes addictive, and even more when it's revealed that Susan isn't actually dead, at Lisa's graduation, from this moment you can't get your eyes off the book.

Too bad the really fascinating part is only less than half of the story, I found the first half really long, I actually thought about abandoning my reading it but then I decided to give it another chance and I'm glad I did And as every Marc Levy, it's beautifully written, full of wonderful images and reflections about life, love, etc Bought it because of the writer, but didn't really know what the story will be like.

Well, it was different than I expected. Childhood friends Susan and Philippe share a very strong bond and are somehow in love but nevertheless is Susan rather in Honduras helping the ppl there re-built their lifes after a hurricane than with Philippe in New York City.

He eventually marries a different woman, and a decade later he is faced with a little girl on his doorstep who is Susans daugther and there because Bought it because of the writer, but didn't really know what the story will be like.

He eventually marries a different woman, and a decade later he is faced with a little girl on his doorstep who is Susans daugther and there because her mommie died. Philippe grieves for his friend and love, but is also a wonderful father for the girl, just as his wife tries to be at least something like a mom for her, which is apparently not that easy.

Although the story covers about 20 years, the book has less than pages and focusses only on small important? Made the story faster but also less deep. Maybe that's the reason I couldn't really warm up to the book and gave 'only' 3 stars - still not so bad a rating. For many readers, the best book by Marc Levy A poignant story, with well defined characters who live parallel but withering lives until they lose each other. Years after, the emergence of a new character in the story is going to challenge the hero to see life differently and to find where the allegiance of his heart really resides.
