Simonton series 5500 windows

They sent me 8 new sashes both upper and lower and every one of the lower sashes had the same over cuts and looked shoddy. Finally I located a Simonton display at a builder's supply company and went there and yes, even the display model had these over cuts on both the edges and either side of both latches. I still don't know why Simonton sent me replacement sashes when the replacements have the same areas of poor quality workmanship I complained about.

THAT suggests their Reps don't know the products. If its unclear what I'm talking about E-Mail me and I'll e-mail you pictures of how bad these look. I ordered Simonton Reflections Windows, supposedly their premium window see review - the installers put in Simonton , the economy model.

Then there were problems with the new windows and neither the contractor nor the Simonton Rep seemed to be the least bit familiar with the product, as evidenced by them sending me replacement sashes with the same problems that i had complained about. Overall quality: 3 Locks: 3 Balance System: 3 Warranty: 1.

The Five 5 casement windows were average for a vinyl window, the problem was 1 of the windows was made wrong and the seal around the glazing was deformed. When I notified Simonton that day about the problem there were no apologizes or sense of urgency on their behalf to correct the problem. They simply stated I would need to go back to 84 lumber and re-order another window four more weeks have passed and I still don't have the new window. I've only had the windows for less than a week.

I personally know my installer and with his expertise in installation I was a part of it and also have had some experience in the past working as a Service person for a local siding and window installation firm as a "Service Person" and also have had experience in Replacement Window Installation myself and his quality in instaling my windows, I am totally convinced that these windows are the ones I truly needed.

I only wish that Simonton would change their position on woodgrain interior and a choice of colors for the exterior of their windows. They only offer White for the exterior when using a woodgrain interior. I would think that this is detrimental to their sales effort?

Many people do not wish to only have a choice of 'white' on the outside if they desire a woodgrain on the interior. A white exterior does reflect the ultraviolet rays from the sun and also the heat, which can warp the windows, amongst other problems, but to have a choice of a beige or taupe color should be a choice for them to offer a customer.

In my case, I chose taupe, inside and out, which does compliment my choice of interior wall paint. My interior design is that of a 'shadow box design' for the windows The color is satisfactory in my case, but with those that have a oak window trim, I would think that they would prefer a woodgrain window I did originally, but am now, in my application, satisfied with the end product and the workmanship of my installer, who is to be commended for his quality and expertise of window installation as well as cladding of the old frame in my Replacement Window project.

Having knowledge and experience myself in the trade, I was very satisfied with my installers expertise and expert craftsmanship.
